Decatur homeowners don't need another sales pitch about their roof — they need someone who shows up, explains what's actually wrong, and fixes it right the first time.
Before Roof Repair Smedway was a name on a truck, our foremen were already up on ladders across Decatur, IN, figuring out which shingle brands actually hold their seal through a rough season and which ones just look good in a showroom.
We don't treat licensing as a formality — it's proof that the person on your roof knows what they're doing and that you're covered if anything goes sideways.
We've replaced enough botched patch jobs from other companies to know exactly what corner-cutting looks like a year later — drywall stains, soft decking, mold nobody can see yet.
Documentation on request, no exceptions.
Storms don't wait for office hours, so our on-call line doesn't either.
Every price is itemized, not eyeballed over the phone.
We already know Decatur's weather patterns and permit process.
Catching a roof problem at the "annoying" stage is almost always cheaper than catching it at the "emergency" stage.
The earlier one of these signs gets a proper look, the smaller the repair usually stays; waiting rarely makes a roof problem cheaper to fix.
Shingles shed their protective granules as they wear down, and a gutter full of grit is an early tell.
Shingles that curl at the edges have lost flexibility and are more likely to crack in the next windstorm.
A gap that lets light through will let rain through eventually.
A spreading brown ring on a ceiling almost always means water is tracking in from somewhere on the roof.
Rooms that run noticeably hotter than the rest of the house often trace back to roof or attic issues.
A bare patch after high wind is a direct gap in your roof's weather barrier that needs covering right away.
We split our work into specific service lanes because a wind-lifted shingle and a full system replacement need completely different crews and timelines.
Below is the full breakdown of what we cover in Decatur, so you can see roughly where your situation fits before you even call.
Active leaks get priority dispatch — a temporary cover first, a proper repair as soon as the crew can get materials on-site.
Our residential scope covers shingle repair, full reroofs, ventilation upgrades, and skylight flashing fixes.
Commercial roofs run different membrane systems entirely, and our crews are trained specifically on TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen.
We'll tell you honestly whether your roof needs a full replacement or just a targeted repair — we don't default to the bigger invoice.
Post-storm inspections give homeowners documented evidence, useful whether or not a claim gets filed.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general repair crews often miss.
Four steps, no surprises in between — here's exactly what happens after you pick up the phone.
After-hours calls still reach a live line for anything time-sensitive.
The inspection covers decking, flashing, and ventilation, not just the obvious visible damage.
An itemized estimate is delivered before any work starts, covering materials, labor, and cleanup.
A final walkthrough confirms everything matches the agreed scope.
We could list a dozen more reasons to work with us, but these six are the ones Decatur homeowners mention most often when they leave a review.
We give you an honest arrival window instead of a vague "sometime this week."
We'd rather lose a bid on an honest price than win one that grows later.
Certifications stay current so material warranties remain valid after installation.
We'd rather send a crew back for a small fix than leave a homeowner unsure.
We've worked with enough local carriers to know what actually speeds up claim approval.
Our technicians explain their reasoning so you're deciding with full information.
A verbal promise means nothing when you actually need it, so ours is documented and handed over at project close.
No surprise line items appear after the fact; anything that changes the scope gets discussed with you directly.
If you ever need to use the guarantee, the process is a phone call, not a fight.
We stage crews across Decatur, IN so a storm hitting one part of the region doesn't leave the rest of Decatur waiting.
